Thousands of human rights activists took to the streets of Islamabad and other cities to rally behind Prime Minister, Imran Khan’s recent call for all Pakistanis, to embrace the Supreme Court’s decision to pardon Asia Bibi who was sentenced to death in 2010 for blasphemy. Last week, the Court freed Bibi and overturned her conviction, sparking angry protests and death threats by the more conservative members of society. Lawyers, human rights activists, and civil society joined in to ask the nation to support the decision of the Supreme Court.
